Drafter

CMI Equipment & Engineering has an exciting opportunity for individuals with AutoCAD experience to join our engineering team.  This position will collaborate with the sales, engineering, and production departments to ensure product timing, quality, and customer satisfaction within the project.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts from rough sketches, redline corrections, customer supplied samples, etc. utilizing AutoCAD
  • Produce final manufacturing drawings along with specifications and part lists
  • Assist in developing product design solutions by providing input, ideas, and options based on preliminary product design intent
  • Communicate with manufacturing on changes and complete drafting mark ups
  • Maintain accurate and up to date AutoCAD customer file
  • Work independently with a high level of accuracy to complete assigned projects on time
  • Support other departments as needed, and complete additional tasks requested by management
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Good mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Some travel may be required
Job Type

Experience
  • Two-year degree in Design/Drafting Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in sheet metal design preferred

Waterjet / Laser Operator

CMI Equipment & Engineering has an immediate opening for a Waterjet/Laser Cutting Machine Operator. The operator will be responsible for setting up and operating a waterjet and a laser cutting machine to cut material to size per part specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Safely, accurately, and efficiently set-up, program and operate Waterjet and Laser machine
  • Read and interpret both drawings and written instructions
  • Verify part(s) meets required specifications prior to and after cutting
  • Load and unload material manually or via forklift
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Adjust machine and troubleshoot as needed
  • Manage a timely cutting schedule
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Monitor stock supply of materials
  • Support other areas of shop as needed, and complete additional tasks requested by
    management
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Experience with AUTOCAD and Nesting Software
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, etc
  • Strong aptitude in math skills and organization
